I’m the moderator of a fantastic group on Goodreads called GREAT MIDDLE GRADE READS. This group has a forum that provides a tool for real kids to read and publish their very own reviews of middle grade books. Who better to review middle grade books than the kids themselves.

Kid’s Review by Paige
THE CANDYMAKERS – by Wendy Mass

The Candymakers is a wonderful book. It is told from 4 points of view Logan: the candymaker’s son, Miles: the boy who is allergic to everything, Daisey: the very strong and cheerful girl, and Phillip: the very quiet and mysterious boy who is always writing in his secret notebook.
These four children are picked to compete in a candy making contest. The children go through an amazing journey while trying to make their candy. But that’s not the whole story. There is a secret ingrediant and another candy company trying to find out what it is. Logan also has a couple secrets which will unfold as you read. Three of the contestants become very close friends and have adventures in the factory.
Each point of view is very different and make the book unique. I think The Candymakers is a great book to read.
