  1. I was surprised to see some of the pictures, my impression vs reality was a bit off. Made me sit back and really think about things. Didn’t realize that some old customs live on as shown in one of the pictures from Japan, or that the boy from the US is sleeping with guns. Of course my heart always goes out to the poverty stricken areas.


  2. …pictures would be inscribed with the children’s material and cultural circumstances ‘ the details that inevitably mark people apart from each other ‘ while the children themselves would appear in the set of portraits as individuals, as equals ‘ just as children.

    It is an interesting concept to see children as a people group and as individuals occupying unique space. hmmm.
