Children’s Cancer Sucks

My family’s own experience with children’s cancer is a journey that we didn’t choose. Before it hit, we never knew a lot about it, but we have seen its devastation first hand. It’s a disease that can strike our kids at any time, without warning, without reason. When I saw the following video on my Facebook feed I just had to share it here (with kind consent from Erin’s mum).

Erin was meant to attend and speak at CureFest DC 2014, but unfortunately lost her battle just 18 days before. It was the first day of Children’s Cancer Awareness Month 2014. Erin’s brother, Declan, and her mother, Amanda, attended on her behalf. The video includes footage of her mum’s brave speech for Erin.

Increasing children’s cancer awareness in the community is key to inspiring governments and big business to fund research into a cure. It’s a nightmare that no kid should endure.

Please share it forward. Spread the word one ‘like’ or ‘share’ at a time.

  1. Thank you for sharing the awareness of children’s cancer. We seriously don’t know what we have until it’s gone. Wishing your daughter and your family continued health. Will share this important message.
