They say that the book is always better than the movie. The thing is, that there are so many books out there, you don’t always hear about the book until the movie is on the way. The Darkest Minds is one such book. It’s a dilemma. Now that I know about the movie – do I read the book first or wait for the movie? I usually wait for the movie because my TBR list is always taller than me.
IMBD describes the movie as “When teens mysteriously develop powerful new abilities, they are declared a threat by the government and detained. Sixteen-year-old Ruby, one of the most powerful young people anyone has encountered, escapes her camp and joins a group of runaway teens seeking safe haven. Soon this newfound family realizes that, in a world in which the adults in power have betrayed them, running is not enough and they must wage a resistance, using their collective power to take back control of their future.”
This looks like an exciting backdrop for a story of survival, growth, and resilience. The Darkest Minds sweeps into cinemas on 3rd August 2018 and stars two of the most up and coming young actors of today. Amandla Stenberg, best known for her roles as Rue in The Hunger Games, and Maddy in Everything Everything, teams up with Nick Robinson from Jurassic World, Everything Everything, and Love Simon .
My verdict : This looks very impressive indeed.
I’d love to hear your thoughts about my post … seriously!
