Disney have been on a mission over recent years to turn their classic favorite animations into real live action movies. Here’s more than a few to keep in mind, Beauty and the Beast (2017), Cinderella (2015), The Lion King (2019), The Jungle Book (2016), Maleficent (2014), Dumbo (2019), Christopher Robin (2018), Alice Through the Looking Glass (2016), Into the Woods (2014).
Aladdin has been a huge success for Disney. The original animated version has kept its magic over time, and the stage production has been playing to sellout crowds all over the world (I saw it a few months ago). There’s probably a bit of pressure on Disney to get it right. Let’s hope that it all works out and Aladdin (in all its guises) continues to entertain for years to come.
The live-action movie of Aladdin will be released May 24 2019.

This looks visually stunning. But that aside, it’s the characters and music that will be the threads that hold it together. From what I see, it looks like they’re on the right track.
